About Him
I am a pessimistic optimist. I find the innocence of children awesome. The wisdom of the elderly inspiring, the integrity of others revealing and in all things I consider myself attempting, albeit sometimes difficultly, to instill in people, a belief that they really can make a difference and that they can be all that they want to be ..they just have to want it badly enough.
I have lived through apartheid and feel remorse but no shame for having done so. Though born and now resident in the UK, I love the South African way of life with a passion, but, in equal part, I love the rain and fish and chip culture of the UK.
I am a single dad, that has been fortunate enough to be a successful entrepreneur in both SA and the UK, with grown up sons that I adore. I grew up in the culture of 'braaivleis, rugby, sunny skies and Chevrolet'. I listened to Marley and Dylan and 'Sugar man' Rodriguez and I pushed the envelope when no one was looking.
I love life and all that it throws at me. I want to be more, see more do more, all of the time because I believe that life is all about the magic! and the magic is in all of us and when all is said and done, I would rather regret the things I have done rather than the things I haven't - as cliched as that sounds.
